Jim Clark Memorial Dinner

Basking in the glow of the Jim Clark weekend courtesy of Michael Hipperson's organisation. Friday I went down to Alnwick to meet Burt with his new Lotus-push-start-340r, Julie, and John (JTbush) gave them a fun lead back to Swinton staying near the coast to dodge the rain. Then on Sat drove down with Kirsty to Chirnside to have a look at the clock, meet some more old friends, make some new ones, revisit Floors (where Kirsty and I got married), and finally head back to the Wheatchief in Swinton for a great dinner.

We were lucky to be sat next to Andrew Tulloch, the curator of the Jim Clark room and then were treated to a question and answer sesh with Jim Clark's mentor Ian Scott Watson, mechanic Cedric, and ex competitor Rob (surname escapes me) who very stylishly turned up in his ex-Army Gazelle!

Got home at midnight after a spirited drive over an old favourite, the Duns to Grantshouse road.

Thanks to Jo for picking up the reins in Michael’s absence and all else who chipped in.
