Big Hangover, clean little fast ones on the reef.

Nice wee surf on the local reef. I had a stinking hangover but getting in is getting in right, and it was hopefully the end of a long flat summer. Actually picked off some nice fast rides, ultra clean, and was in the slot for the largest to come through. Ultra low tides meant that it was gone very quickly and a ballsache getting in through the rocks. Memorable surf due to an excellent turn off the lip, for a moment I felt like a real surfer.

Monday went for a ride to check access to a potential point break near me and took this.

Jess had a her second surf today at little pease. Waves were tiny but the underlying swell meant they were running for a long while. In fact they were just big enough to scare her when a chest high (for her) set came through when I was paddling her back out. 

She declined to stand today ("I only stand when surfing Gullane" (wtf!) ) but no need to push, she was naturally arching her back to trim and having a good time. Even caught a tiny one myself :)

Need to find her a soft top board.

There's not much better than watch your kids catch waves!
